Why doesn't my Moto G get 3G anymore?

My phone has always said 3G....now it says E. It seems to be running slower when using search. I have AT&T service.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you contacted AT&T about this? Maybe your local tower is down.

Hi, facing the same problem here.

After i updated my moto g to Lollipop, i cannot access 3G/mobile data anymore. Used to be able to work before updating.
Tried clearing cache, switching SIM card slot.

Anyone know what else can i do? Would prefer not to resort to a factory reset.

Hi everyone,

I finally got access to 3G/mobile data again.
I manually input the APN settings, you can get them through your service providers.

Not sure if this only works temporary, will update again in maybe a few days to see if this solution works permanently!

Try and do this: go to the phone app start the dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#*. A hidden menu should pop up. Tap on phone information and scroll down to "set preferred network type" tap on the drop down box, search and select wcdma only.
