Black screen after reboot.

Hello. My brother bought a Moto G4 at Best Buy last week. Everything was working just fine for him. Yesterday after we ate our Turkey dinner her took the phone out of his pocket and the screen was black. He rebooted the phone and the Moto boot screen appears like usual and then the screen goes black and nothing. I booted to recovery mode and cleared the cache and even did a factory reset and it didnt make a difference. Weird thing is screen displays fine when it boots, in recovery mode and the charging logo comes up when plugged in. It just won't display anything after it boots. Any suggestions? Our local Best Buy is out of stock and if we return it he won't have a phone. I'd rather fix it. Thanks.
