I've heard that the batteries, while rated a certain capacity, really don't charge a device to that capacity.

Well it is only a 2000mAh battery. Most phones are higher than 2000mAh battery. In fact I think every flagship this year was over 2,000mAh in battery size.

Motorola gave me one for not sending me the $25 Google Play gift card they gave me for having to RMA my device after it took them 3 weeks to get it to me in the first place (for which I was given a headset).
