My phone has stopped receiving push notifications?

My Droid Turbo has stopped receiving push notifications from several apps including Twitter and Gmail. I was recently out of town this weekend and ever since the 2nd day of my vacation my phone has stopped receiving push notifications. I have reinstalled the apps, checked to see if my notifications are on, and I have restarted my phone multiple times and nothing seems to be working.

Mine is doing the same thing. If I go into app settings and clear cache and data on gmail, it works for about an hour. It also happened with Words with Friends, but after I cleared data and cache it's been working fine.????? Called Verizon and of course they wanted a factory reset.

Try wiping the cache partition in recovery.
That usually works.

Nucle is this a known problem?

As far as I know it is not but wiping the cache partition is the android equivalent of turning it on and off again.

Obvious question, but do you have notifications on none or priority only?

just changed it to priority, but don't really know what that's about. Don't know what none is

All - self explanitory
Priority - no notifications, alarms go off etc
None - no interruptions. At all.

Is it a lack of sound or no notifications? If it is no sound I've found moto display often stops notification sounds on my moto g.
