D2 Virtual Keyboard download?

I recently played around with the Droid 2, and I must say the stock virtual keyboard on it is much better then the stock virtual Android keyboard on the Droid 1.

Anyone found a way to get the virtual keyboard from the D2 onto the D1?

Just loaded it last night. Seems pretty good. Alot better in landscape mode. You do have to be rooted though. I don't know if anyone has made it work yet for non rooted devices.

ahh that stinks, im not rooted and id like to remain stock.

Oh well I hope they bring this out as some kind of down loadable. The keyboard just seemed to accurate.

Devs are pretty clever we may see that kb for non rooted phones sooner or later. But I think the issue lies in the fact that you need to replace a system file in order for the kb to work and thats tough to do with a simple app loader on a non rooted phone.

Rooting takes about 2 minutes to complete, and your phone is still "stock" it just has Super User permissions which allows you access to make changes to the OS that you normally would not be able to. Complications only arise when you choose to flash a custom built ROM.

I am guessing no one has found a way to get the multi-touch keyboard onto the Droid 1 w/ 2.2 yet? (non-rooted)
