I am taking a trip up to Canada and I am wondering if there is a way I can use my phone with out paying any extra fees.

you can turn off data/signal and use it on wifi, but as far as using it for calls/texts I don't think there is a "no-charge" way to do it. Unless you use skype over wifi, but that means you'd have to be around wifi.
