Contacts, No Groups, good replacement app?

Contacts No Groups good replacement app

I have researched and found that for some reason Google has removed groups from contacts.
I haven't used a Vanilla version of android in years.

But with the strangle hold Carriers have now a days. its time to get back to freedom

But to my original question from talking with google there is no way to restore groups

is there a good secure 3rd party app that works with little or no intrusion.

I have a backup of Samsung contact app won't know if it works till My 6P arrives tomorrow

I find it strange they felt the need to remove access to this feature..

We've actually never been able to use Google Contact groups to send emails in the Gmail app (or at least, haven't been able to for a long time). It's a longstanding deficiency that I don't quite understand. I use Group Share for Gmail, which works well. If you don't see your Google Contact groups there, go to the app's settings and make sure System Groups and Hidden Groups are turned on.

I was really down when I switched from Samsung which supports groups. I spent a lot of time trying different apps and Contacts+ made me very happy. It supports groups in a way that works well. I also allowed Contacts+ to be my dialer and SMS app.
