Re: [Patch] Virgin Mobile VM9 Radio Update - REMOVED

I don't blame you.

It's not a big deal, but you know how people are, "SHINY! MUST HAVE!".

Better someone puts it out in a way we can control and be sure is at least relatively safe, instead of people just doing whatever and causing problems.

And before anyone thinks I'm any dif... OH! PRETTY! What was I saying?

At least we didn't have the whole OV community flashing the unchanged update from virgin... then we would all be screwed with unrootable phones.

I feel like this whole experience will be a useful "would you jump of the bridge if everyone else did?" experience... I still haven't flashed it and I don't know if I ever want to now.

Re: [Patch] Virgin Mobile VM9 Radio Update - REMOVED

The link has been restored.
After seeing that it was warned on the recovery threads, I feel a bit better about the whole thing. Thanks everyone.

I'm going to redo the first post a bit as well.

Edit: First post has been updated.

I would have never blamed you if something happened to my phone because of my need to have something shinny and new. Well say that the radio does help with 3g in my area. And on the note of the Touch Recovery I may go back because my camera button is a little wonky, it works but iwonky.

Thanks.
And in reality, if the recovery bonks your rom, at least that is easily dealt with. In your case especially, I can understand going back to it, and at some point it would be great to have a good working touch recovery.

I said it in the early ICS builds, people were not understanding the risks involved in playing with this stuff and many still don't.

Yes and no. The touch recovery is CWM, they are all CWM. It works with Bobzhome's recovery from what I've read. Don't trust me though, read for yourself.

Re: [Patch] Virgin Mobile VM9 Radio Update - Restored!

after flash, can I still be safe to install touch recovery?
Simple answer? Yes.
Personally, I would put Bobzhome on and forget the rest.

CWM is very unspecific, and as mentioned covers a lot of recoveries, some good, some absolutely f'ing awful.

Put Bobzhome and you will never have to mess with recovery again for a long time.

Re: [Patch] Virgin Mobile VM9 Radio Update - Restored!

Well when I want to update my phone I use ROM Manager. No problems yet and I have CWM 3.2.0.1 is it safe to flash using that? Cause I can not have this phone be bricked or I'll be ed.

I highlighted the important part.
If you like your phone, get rid of that program.
