Digging the hole. Taken with an HTC One M8.

Residential and commercial expansion just keeps moving along, and whether you're in a dense city or a suburb you'll undoubtedly see new structures and renovations taking place. We want you to try and capture the idea of "construction" best you can for this week's contest, and we're looking forward to seeing what you can show off.

We'll be picking out three winners this week, with each taking home an Android Mini Figurine!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (February 10) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per week per person.

Good luck, everyone!

This may not be the most exciting picture to look at, but was awesome to watch, and it was a very exciting time for me.

This was during the expansion of my store, Advance Auto Parts store 9169, and we completely reset the sales floor during the expansion. The aisles were moved and turned in a different direction without disassembly. They just pushed on each side and put skates under the aisles and moved them where they needed to be.

It was taken with my Nexus 5 and edited with Google photos auto awesome.

I work for a general contractor in Southern California. This is a photo of one of our construction sites in Banning, CA for a new motorcycle dealership. The main structure is a pre-manufactured steel building and will then be enclosed with metal studs and insulated wall panels.

Photo was taken with my Samsung Note 3 and edited with Google+ Auto Awesome feature.

I'm a service advisor for a local HVAC equipment distributor and get to go out and inspect installations of the product we sell. I was out on a recent installation that had been up and running for several months when I noticed this scene. This building is part of a campus with another building going up right next to it. I caught them swinging up another piece of our equipment on the new building and couldn't resit this shot.

Taken with a Motorola Moto X (2013- I still love this phone!) Auto enhanced by Google+

My friend built this thing to fix the adjustable desk in school. Notice my other friend's leg, who wants to destroy the master piece.

This photo was taken from my Samsung Galaxy S5. I am an Engineer in NYC and this was taken from a site on a project I am working on. As you can see, there is A LOT going on here. Train tracks will eventually be covered with a mini city in itself at this site!

Downtown Los Angeles, Wishire Grand Elevator core. Taken as a pano with Nexus 5, edited for exposure in Photoshop CS6.

This is our first 1000+ foot skyscraper to go up on the west coast since 1989. Building in the San Andreas fault zone building super tall is expensive and rare, so a 1000'+ building is a big deal.

This is the city of Burbank, CA. The much routed 5 freeway is under construction. As soon as I saw this post about construction, I ran to the roof of the hotel I work at and snapped this image with my mighty Note 4 and edited with Vsco Cam.

Here is a photo taken with my Galaxy S5 and unedited.

This is the Wilshire Grand Center project that will wind up being 73 stories tall and will be the tallest building in Los Angeles. The photo was taken while I was doing a jobwalk/safety audit. It was taken 5 stories below the street level and the structure with the blue tarps is the elevator shafts going up.
