I'm not clear your screen does not work. It works OK until you turn it off? It turns itself off but up to that point the screen is lightting and working fine? The screen never comes on, but a light says the power is on?
I had a Samsung go completely black, but I had accidentally turned off Automatic brightness while in sunlight, so I had to guess where to pull down the shade and slide the Brightness up.

If you can be clearer. Is it charging OK. You may also have a faulty cable or charging port, depending on the problem.
Sorry I didn't understand fully.

I read your reply again.

If you can turn it on, but it shuts down rather than go to sleep, and the Power key doesn't always start it but recovery mode does - I don't know.
Rukbat here or someone might know later. Could be a hardware or battery issue.

Can you go to the battery usage graph and see its draining normally. The GSam battery app gives better information.
