What Virtual Reality headset will work with the Galaxy Note 4 in a heavy-duty case, like an Otterbox?

The only Galaxy note that is on the compatibility for Google Daydream is the Not8.
As for the Gear VR, the oldest Note it lists compatible is the Note 5.

Granted, I have heard of devices working with both of these headsets that aren't listed as compatible phones. I hope someone with your phone will comment to let you know what works for them!

As for keeping the case on your phone, that might not be something that's possible. Even to use my Google Daydream with a Pixel 2 I have to take my thick(er than usual) case off of it to get it to fit into there properly.
I know that cases like Otterbox can get stretched out and stop working on phones the more you take them off and put them on, so trust me I feel the struggle.

Have you looked into other portable VR headsets? The Oculus Go has hit the stores, and it doesn't need *any* phone or device for it to be powered!
