Exchange Calendar Not Refreshing?

I use my Outlook.com account as an Exchange ActiveSync account on my Note 7. However, the calendar simply isn't syncing after the initial sync, despite manually refreshing it in settings > accounts.

Additionally, the Outlook.com Exchange calendar and another Exchange calendar of mine have multiple sub-calendars added, yet Samsung's calendar app (and now Google's calendar app) joins them all into one main calendar.

Are these things by design? If so, that's terrible, and I don't see how enterprise users would be able to use Samsung's stock Note 7 apps.
