Note 8.0 touch screen not responding

So I replaced the digitizer on a Samsing Galaxy 8.0 tablet and now its not responding when I touch it. It works fine with the S-pen but not responding at all to my finger. I tried another part and it does the same thing. It sometimes works but when i put it back together it stops. I'm going to try it with another digitizer but I'm not hopeful. Could I have damaged something on the logic board? Any one else run into this issue?

An S-Pen device has an extra layer in the screen - an S-Pen layer. The S-Pen is "connected" to the phone electronically, not by pressure. One can work while the other doesn't.

If the touch screen works when the phone is apart, but stops when you put it back together, you're doing something wrong. If it's intermittent when it's apart, try moving connectors or cables just a hair (one at a time - move then check a few different times each) to see if one of them is causing it.
