Why can't I reboot or Hard reset my Galaxy Note 1 GT-n7000?

Cant reboot or Hard reset my phone GALAXY note 1 GT-n7000

My phone switched off suddenly and i cant seem to reboot it. I even tried the volume down, power and home button but the OS system is not appearing. I have been charging my phone but the battery icon is jammed and it goes of even sec and comes back. Im not so sure if its charging or not. I need help, Is there any other way i can Root the phone, I tried the Odin rooting system, but because i am unable to switch it on, i cant do it. Hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome to the forums. Try this: take the battery out and on a smooth flat surface, try to spin it. If it does, the battery is bad and you need a new one.
