Google Talk on Galaxy S2

Hello all,

I have two gmail accounts on my S2, one personal, one work.

Work has turned off Chat on their google account, which means I am getting constant messages saying that Google Talk cannot be authenticated (obvious because chat is turned off on that account).

Can anyone help with how to stop these notifications, which are unnecessary and irritating.

Disabling Talk on my phone makes no difference.

Is removing Talk from my phone an option?
