Galaxy s3 freezes computer apps

As soon as i plug my s3 into my computer it detects it but then as soon as i try to open it all my computer app freezes like my computer or media center basically giving me no way to enter music into it also i would like to root my phone to a new linuix i hate this one and if anyone has any suggestion on how to fix these please help \

its simple just freezes my folders and anything that has to do with putting music on it

and also just found out if i use it on a different pc it works just fine but why not this one

What is it that you dislike about the stock firmware?
Have you tried just using an alternate launcher like
Nova Launcher: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
or
Themer: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer
For suggestions on specific ROMs that you can load if you root (and for rooting procedures) you should go to the carrier-specific sub-forum for your phone, and then in the rooting sub-forum.
