Factory Data Reset Not Working?

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999) to 4.3. By recently, I mean this morning. About two hours ago, my phone died. I put it on the charger, and waited until about a half hour ago. I try to turn it on, but it is stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S3" start up screen. I also tried the hard/factory data reset technique type thingy, but that isn't working either!
Is my phone just a paperweight, or can it be saved?

Did you reset the phone and it stayed on the logo?

I tell you what, sometimes a little patience and old tricks work. Take the battery out for one hour or so, after that, put the battery back in and turn it on. See if that helps. If not we'll try something else.
