Lock Screen Not Working S5 Active

Okay so I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and I recently went to place a Lock Screen code on it. I went through as usual. Then I locked my phone and no pass code option appeared. Just the standard 'Swipe to Unlock' I have tried using all the different Lock Screen options and none of them worked. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?? PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! What's the timeout set to? There should be an option somewhere in the Settings menu that allows you to adjust how long the phone waits after the screen sleeps before the phone locks. There's usually an option there that also makes the phone lock automatically when you press the Power button.
