I have a verizon and Sprint S5. Both obviously capable with wifi-ac connection. On the verizon I get over 100MB, on Sprint, I am hitting around 55mb. I noticed this on my Sprint Phone and tablet. Is this a limitation from Sprint?

All things being equal, I can't see why it would matter who's carrier you are subscribed to.

WiFi is WiFi, got nothing to do with the carrier's data signal.

IMO, the Sprint phone has something interfering with the WiFi's data transfer.

Have you used a good WiFi analyzer program to see if there are interfering channels in your area?

I like:

  • WiFi Overview 360 Pro, very powerful app.
  • WiFi Analyzer, also a good app
  • Interference Analyzer, also a good app, especially for interference type problems.

If there are interfering signals on your router's WiFi channel, you need to move your WiFi router to a clear channel.

The first app I mentioned will show you the clear channels.
