Can anyone tell me why one phone would have this and not the other? Both in UK, both same firmware, same model s5. It comes on with nfc on one phone but not the other.
I have two questions:
1) When switching NFC on, why does the icon only come up on one of the phones and not the other?
2) Why does it not look like the normal NFC icon?

Because your device is using NFC for some reason I think its 3rd party app doing so

One is 3, other is O2. I thought an nfc icon was an nfc icon (which I thought was an N with a curvy line each side of it anyway, not the one I'm showing?

Not always. Different providers may have different 3G/4G indicators, so I wouldn't be surprised if the NFC icons were different as well.
