Galaxy S5 - is locked with message "to unlock, enter recovery password"

This happened before and I lost all data.

What is the recovery password? Is it my Google Account password?

If I correctly enter that password, will the phone unlock? Anything else I need to know?

Under what circumstances did this message appear? Was it when routinely turned it back on at some point? Or did the phone unexpectedly shut off while you were using it?

Phone accidentally pocket dialed too many characters in password screen and became locked.

My guess is that it's either your Google password or your Samsung password. Try Google first.
