What are the little arrows for?

My phone updated to 5.1.1 the other day and I have noticed every now and again I get an icon next to the network signal info that is a little left and right arrow above and below each other.

Wondered if anyone know what these were telling me? :-\

do you usually have WiFi on when you see these arrows? I think it's some kind of download booster notification, but I could be wrong.

VoLTE is activated and HD calling is available I do believe.

Go to settings/about phone/icon glossary and see if you can spot it there. My Verizon phone doesn't list it, and I've never seen it.

Again, pretty sure it's VoLTE that's causing the icon.

Yep spoke to three then Samsung its the volte symbol

I had silly cell standby drain cause of it 40% factory reset sorted it

Thats it, I'm on 3 mobile so it's the VoLTE thingy mentioned originally by dumpedduce.
