Android System draining battery.

So the Android System is using a lot of battery. Any ideas on the cause? I was using Twitter and Facebook mostly and played around with the stock camera app briefly.

Re: Android System draining battery.

I would try wiping the cache.

1. Turn off the phone entirely
2. Reboot the phone using these buttons at the same time:
-Power
-Volume up
-Home Key
3. When phone reboots wait until you get the recovery/bootloader screen
4. Use the volume keys to move up and down
-Choose wipe cache partition by hitting the power key
5. Choose reboot system now using the power key

See if that helps

Re: Android System draining battery.

The Android system is always my biggest battery drain too just at like 50% less. I'm in shock at the number you got lol. I hope it fixes

You're pushing 26 hours without a charge lol - to be at 35% that's pretty impressive. What is your SOT if you don't mind me asking?

I have gotten just shy of 48 hours with 4 hours of SOT.

We also don't know if he plugged his phone up during that time, graph isn't showing and unless it fully charges, time on will not change.

I would probably get the same if I didn't charge mine overnight - I go to bed with about 50% left and that's with SOT of about 2 and half hours.

I had been wirelesslh charging it throughout the day. Never to 100% though. Where can I find the SOT?

My own Galaxy S6 Battery Test

So last night I went to the movies with my wife and saw Vacation (great movie of course). Anyways, I left my S6 in the car to charge to 100%. Took it off the charger on the way home and did not touch it. Went to bed without doing anything on it. Woke up at 8:00 this morning and it had 98%. Only lost 2% over night. Since then I have been using my S6 for phone calls, texts, emails, facebook, and gaming. Here is my results:

Almost 13 hours on that charge. Almost 4 hours of SOT. I personally think this is acceptable of the S6. What do you think?

I think 3.5hrs is probably the average from these forums, but yeh 4hrs SOT is pretty good, some folks have got over 5hrs SOT.

I usually get 3.5 - 4hrs SOT but my lte reception is terrible, so I'm sure I would get much better battery life with good reception.

I think it's quite adequate, personally. Attached is a chronicle of my last cycle. Not what I would classify as a heavy-use day, but plenty of time spent browsing the web and social media (and keeping up with forums via Tapatalk), and this cycle also includes about 2.5 hours of listening to news radio and podcasts. For the record, I also was cranking the screen brightness up a bit higher than it needed to be.

I may lose up to an hour or more off these results if I'm gaming, but regardless, for my needs, this doesn't leave much to be desired. And I'm still on 5.0.2, for what it's worth.

Re: My own Galaxy S6 Battery Test

I've managed to get about 17 hours with heavy usage and still feel I can do better though. I think I still to tinker with my phone a little more and turn off more things in the settings that I don't use.

I know the feeling, I'm curious to know just how far I can push it, but to date even half-assed optimization attempts on my part have yielded pretty positive results.

Re: My own Galaxy S6 Battery Test

This has been my battery life the last two days. I got rid of Nova and am just using Touchwiz and the battery seems to be even better than before

Re: My own Galaxy S6 Battery Test

This is by far the best single charge I have gone through with my S6. And this is after going for a 3 mile run, using music and GPS to track my run, and listening to music for a long period of time yesterday. And reading articles on Flipboard, and Twitter. Definitely doing something right. And still using Nova and having my phone work the way that I want it to work for me.

Re: My own Galaxy S6 Battery Test

Actually managed to squeeze the battery a little bit more and make it all the way to work and post this right before the battery ran out. 2% left!! Time to charge!!!
