Will the buttons start working?

I dropped my phone in water. I put it in rice and have been testing since then. It started saying that it is overheating and shut down that was yesterday morning. Now it doesn't say that but the touch screen back buttons don't work, I have a S6 btw, what are the chances that they will start working? I hate my back up phone and everything else works on the s6 so if they won't come back anyways I could manage without the buttons until I can upgrade. But I also don't want to damage the phone more by using it. Thanks

There's really no way to predict what will happen with the phone. Water damage can be unpredictable and insidious. If it seems to work now, things might start to fail later as more corrosion develops.
