Why can't I send MMS pics?

At&t phone/network. only a month old. Whenever I try to send an MMS pic, it will resize to show the top left 1/5 of picture, cropped to the bottom right side, with a black background in rest of photo space. Pictures send normally over FB messenger, just not through text. What can i do to fix this?

Can you receive mms messages? Mms is usually enabled at network level, chat to A&T to make sure it's turned on for your phone number.
