I bought a samsung galaxy tab2 Tablet 8GB memory, but when I look at settings-storage show me only 4.4Gb. Is that correct?

Yes it is. Some of the space is going to be partitioned for the OS and other software on it.

See this thread and read through all of the posts. The memory uses in the Galaxy Tab 2 is well discussed. There is about 4 GB for apps in an 8 GB tab. Room for a lot of apps! Some games will use lots of this memory but you can have more than 100 average Apps installed with 4 GB

I have 154 apps on my 8G tab 2 7.0 and still have 1G of memory available.
