I would delete the hotmail account and start over. Re-enter the account information Go to your computer and note the account settings on your mail reader. Check the settings in the "more settings" area and check the port numbers ans authentication settings.
In your Tab-2 go to email, account settings and the common settings. Down at the bottom are settings for incoming and outgoing email accounts.. be sure those settings agree with your computer! Do all these steps in increments and find out if the new account is working before making additional changes!
