Saving documents offline, how can I do this?

Saving documents offline

I have an android Galaxy Tab A and i used to be able to save my documents on a SDcard or on my USB memory using an adaptor. As or about 10 days ago that ability is gone. I am being forced to use internal memory or online programs like One drive. I prefer the security of offline methods since I am not always where there is a wifi and don't want to use up the internal. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to fix it?

I use either Microsoft word or Polaris oiffice which is compatible

Re: Saving documents offline

It won't solve your security problem but I use a program called Folder Sync to sync my google drive with a folder on my SD Card...

That way I always have my documents even when not connected...

Re: Saving documents offline

Hello,

What version of Android do you run ?
If it's 4.4 Kitkat, that the reson of your problem. On Kikat, the non native applications (as Word or Polaris) can't write their data on the SD Card ; they can do it only on the internal storage (the main momory).
Probably, you can upgrade to Lollipop. Prefer the 5.1.1 version.
With this version, You will can write on the SD card.
Kindly.
