Phil's thoughts on the LG Nexus leaks ...

I agree I'd rather have integrated LTE then an extra two CPU cores

Phil's thoughts on the LG Nexus leaks ...

Take a closer look at the PDF. MSM8960 is dual core, APQ8064 is the quad core and has no modems.

For some reason, not super excited on the new Nexus 4

I feel the same, I think that since hardware has gotten good enough to run android fluidly there hasn't been as much to get excited about hardware wise. In the desktop space it is still possible to be excited about specs because there is software that can push a monster rig to its limits, but in...

The quad core S4 does NOT have an integrated radio like the dual core version does.

New Nexus Devices(s) rumored for the 30th.....anyone excited?

It will vary based on the quality of memory used but for reference in the nexus 7 it costs $13.50 for 8gb and $21.00 for 16gb source: http://www.isuppli.com/Teardowns/News/pages/Low-End-Google-Nexus-7-Carries-$157-BOM-Teardown-Reveals.aspx

New Nexus Devices(s) rumored for the 30th.....anyone excited?

Re: New Nexus(') rumored for the 29th.....anyone excited? It's less about being poketable (I can fit my nexus 7 in my pockets) and more about being convenient to use one handed. 4in might be a little small for me but I can see how It would be good for a lot of people. Personally the gnex is...

Rumor: Android 4.2 Features on Nexus

I don't think it will be an official announcement but we may get a look at the next version of android. Two years ago they showed off honeycomb on a Xoom even though they didn't give any details on the device

In a Nexus do you want diversity or singularity?

I agree with you in that a windows phone style of controlled would be great for a nexus lineup. Have a set screen resolution and chip set and have the differentiation be primarily through industrial design. I do not agree that they should all be 4.5-4.8" screens with no keyboard. Controlling the...

    Why do you hate Sense?

I've never owned a sense phone so I won't comment on performance/ battery life, but from playing with display models and seeing videos, I dislike sense because it is too gaudy, over-designed (although it has been toned down a bit, but not enough for me), it adds tones of crap that I don't want...

    So here's the BIG question

If anyone would actually bother reading the AnandTech article about this (conveniently posted by kcoan3 on the first page of this thread) you would see how the db reported in the settings menu is not directly comparable between the gnex, which displays lte signal strength here, and other 4g...

will we ever get an official google wallet app?

I have no clue about hardware, but it goes into a limited trial in Salt Lake and Austin next year, they have not yet announced when it could expand beyond that though.

will we ever get an official google wallet app?

According to this isis should work with paypass and be compatible with any major credit cards instead of just mastercard. As bad as many carrier services are, this may be one instance where they actually have the best option

will we ever get an official google wallet app?

I'd be inclined to agree with you, but 6 months ago I didn't think verizon would ever get a nexus, so who knows what will happen with this.

what version? I know xp has some troubles with MTP if windows media player 10 is not installed, but if you have 7 it should work fine, not sure about vista.

    Verizon has to much control

I guarantee you, the iphone still needs its updates tested from verizon, you just don't see the delays since their process is much more opaque then google's, no one gets it and it is not even announced until it is ready to go for all channels.

    terrible bugs in my Gnex

For everyone saying that a phone being buggy has never stopped verizon from releasing it before, have you thought that maybe, just maybe it is google that wants to make sure they get this right.

Some fun about release: your superstitions

there is definitely enough blame to go around

If the hardware is just so-so, why all the exitement?

Because a nexus is first and foremost a developer phone, verizon adding two consumer-centric apps does not impact that, however not being on the latest os version would limit the nexus's utility as a developer phone. The update that samsung pushed to the phone had to do with hardware drivers...
