This is my first post and will probably be my last, but putting myself in the site administrator's position, i would like someone to tell me.

Your advertising partners are the most abusive I have ever met in my whole life. Not one of the most, but THE MOST. In my computer the ads are noisy, annoying and extremely intrusive, but that's nothing compared to what goes on in my phone. There's this ad partner that literally hijacks my browser, takes me away from this website and puts my phone on full vibration, claiming my phone has a virus and they have a solution. Of course I haven't, I have an anti virus (plus it's an android so it's pretty unlikely) but I never knew that browser ads could grab your phone and activate vibration like that. And it only happens on android central. Congratulations, not even porn and pirate streaming websites go this low.

These advertising partners of yours are the reason why I still use adblock despite harming content developers. I try to whitelist my favorite websites, but I just can't do it on android central. It is unfortunate that one has to root the phone to use it there, but i'll simply avoid this website from now on mobile. Thank you for reading this and I hope it helps in improving your service. Have a nice day.

To help you find your abusive partner, this isn't the first time I see this happening on android central.

They are always anti virus programs. This one in particular is called "Mobile Scan" by mypengomobile.com.

Previously it was some UK company, I traced them to London, also regarding antivirus.

There's another called global offers and yet another called click for deal.

(EDIT: This message is a PS from another message that was caught in the spam filters due to my low post count.)

I just experienced this crap this morning and your post was the first result after searching. I had androidcentral.com in my ad blocker exceptions list because I use the site so much and I was trying to be supportive. I had 3 pop ups in a row trying to browse to one story. I have removed them from my exceptions list. I am using uBlock Origin on Chrome and seems to have covered the issue. Though I wish I wouldn't have to use it for this site.

I hope they rethink their ad policies and partnerships. Ads at the cost of usability is a deal breaker.

I've been having this issue with the AC site in recent weeks, along with a few other Clickbait sites linked from Facebook. So I assumed it was just on my phone. Looks like it is one of the companies that pays to advertise via popular websites.

The hijacking ad pops up after a set amount of time and pretends to have Facebook comments after. It also uses your IP address to mention your internet service provider, making you think it's more genuine.

There was mentioned of s3.amazonaws which is an ad provider. I think this may be an issue with adverts with sneaky JavaScript code inserted. Bloody annoying too, as the back button doesn't go back to the previous page once the ad has popped up.
