Deleted pop3 email keeps reappearing

Since the 4.1.2 update, when I delete emails from the inbox, they reappear next time the phone syncs. Then if I refresh, some of them will disappear again and it shows 3 or 4 unread (which were also already deleted). Then the next time the phone syncs, all 30-60 emails are back.

  • It's POP3 email, from Comcast. (Gmail is working fine)
  • I DO NOT have the phone set to delete emails from the sever, because I also use a laptop to get email. I have Comcast set to delete emails from the server after 2 weeks. This worked perfectly on my Evo 4G for 2 years and on this S3 until the update. So telling me to have the phone delete emails from the server is not helpful.

Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone been able to fix it? Should I just try a third-party email client like K9 or something?

Try deleting and reinstalling the email account from the phone.
we had several here at work that did the same thing and this seemed to work.
you will get all the emails on the server when you restart, but, the should delete from the phone afterward
