Yes, it's been strong in my area so far but where I live my wife said her phone still say 3g

Has to be LTE / CDMA. If it was only set to CDMA the phone will only look for 3g.

Update-apparently it was only a trial, as from 8/14/13 (the next day), until the time of this writing it has been off in Norristown, I'm guessing off in Philly too.

I had 4G my entire ride today from North of the Tacony Bridge onto 95 south across the Betsy Ross until I reached the first traffic light in Maple Shade.
