Lollipop update - lock screen weather widget won't go away!

(I have unchecked everything I can uncheck in lock screen and notification settings, and restarted a few times.) I really love my Weather Underground app's minimalist status bar temperature notification, but can't seem to get the bulky weather widget off my lock screen. If I disable or hide notifications for that app, it takes away both of those. Is there any way to get rid of the lock screen widget and still keep my little temp?

(The only other complaint I have for this update thusfar is the way the folders look now. oh, sure, sway us with color changing options - I miss the circles and icon stacks.)

Go to Settings-Device-Sounds and notifications. Scroll down and under the Notifications heading you'll see "While locked". Click that and select "Do not show notifications". This will clean up your lock screen.

Although if you do this, no notifications will appear when your phone is locked. Even text message notifications. Not quite sure what the workaround is for that.
