I went with 128 due to the lack of a SD card slot. Ordered my device from Project Fi and opted for their $5 a month damage coverage. It's not that much more than the Play Store damage coverage at the end of 2 years, and allows me to keep coverage if I decide to go into years 3 or 4.

I've decided to buy an insurance policy from Worth Ave. Group. They cover all the things Device Protection does, as well as loss and theft.

If you plan on doing a good deal of video recording (especially if your preference is 4k), get the 128. Sure, Google is providing unlimited cloud storage, but it can only back it up so quickly, so if you were to keep a 32gb model even 50-75% full, you might find yourself noticeably affected by the difference (plus, with whatever storage size you choose, bear in mind that a fixed chunk is reserved for the OS (a greater % of usable storage when mapped against 32gb vs 128), and that as you approach capacity you'll find general phone performance beginning to deteriorate (or at least that's been my experience)).
