outright stating Android M is almost here, it seems as if the Nexus phones will launch earlier than the expected dates. Maybe we are looking at a September release.

I just read a story that claims the Nexus phones will be launched in October, so it makes sense, considering the fact that they said Android M's final release would be end of Q3. That's the end of next month.

[*]Snapdragon 808 w/ 3 GB RAM ... glad they didn't go 810 w 4GB RAM

[*]Front Stereo Speakers ... awesome, never had em and anxious to hear quality

[*]13 MP Sony IMX278 rear camera, 5 MP front camera, OIS, Laser Autofocus, Dual-LED Flash ... hopefully software quality will match hardware

[*]Fingerprint Reader, NFC ... glad it's on the back. prefer speaker to sensor up front.

[*]USB Type-C ... will be disappointed if it's 2.0

[*]2700 mAh ... would've preferred 3000+ hoping M is much better with optimization than its predecessors

[*]16 GB and 32 GB memory ... reminds me of 8/16 options on Nexus 4. not expecting SD but hopefully that or 64MB. 2700 mAh/32GB/USB-C 2.0 (instead of 3.0) combo possible deal breaker

[*]Android 6.0 ... Doze and Permissions are promising. Subtle upgrade to LP instead of major overhaul is perfect. Cautiously optimistic considering LP disaster. Expecting Doze to be at least half as good as advertised. With the push to thin phones and small batteries that dominated 2015, Google better finally deliver with much better efficiency and optimization (their words, not mine).

Hopefully, Google keeps the same price points as the original Nexus 5 ... (don't mind paying a premium for better features/specs)

$349 for 16 GB ... I guess enough people only need 16GB considering OEMs continue offering it

$399 for 32 GB ... I really hope they offer 64GB. price is excessively reasonable though.

Overall, just like any phone, there are pluses and minuses. 1080p was a great call, the front speakers and fingerprint sensor will be nice to finally have, and I'm looking forward to quick charge. I'll be disappointed if of USB-C isn't 3.0 and would've like to have seen a larger battery and 64MB.

Of course this assumes these rumors hold true, but I have a similar taste in my mouth as I had with the Nexus 4. It's a solid phone at a great price. I don't expect great battery life or a great camera, but if priced around $400, I really can't complain.

This is a Nexus after all, and it's about owning an unlocked, non carrier branded, bloat free phone running stock with quick updates at a reasonable price. I had planned on trying to get it on day 1, but the small battery has left room for some skepticism.

Ultimately, it'll come down to Android M. If it's what Google says it is, I'll buy one. If not, I won't. It's really that simple.

Can't wait for the above info to be leaked about the larger Nexus from Huawei - I've been practising pronouncing the company name

I don't think I can wait until the end of Oct!! My next phone will be either the LG or Huawei Nexus or the Moto X Style

if the rumored specs on the LG version are accurate, I'm actually dreading the Hauwei announcement. BT the battery, 32MB max with no SD, and USB-C 2.0, I was thoroughly disappointed. I was hoping for the best, planning for three worst. now I'm just praying for at least 3300 mAh, which is the very bottom of all the rumors we've heard about the past few months. reminds me of the note 5 and the 4100 rumors, only to find out it was smaller than last year. of course the big difference is I don't expect the same optimization with the Nexus as the Note 5, which seems to be the exception to the rule.

yeah there hasn't been that many recent rumours surrounding the larger Nexus, I wonder if they will release both phones at the same time or push the LG one first??

If anyone was concerned that quick charge and USB Type-C weren't going to be a thing, then here's a phone that will have both features.

Also, the specs are eerily similar to the rumored Nexus 5.

$400 better be the price for 32GB. If that is for the 16GB variant then I will pass. There simply aren't enough spec improvements to warrant paying more than the original N5 sold for two years ago.
