Battery drain issues

Hello! My s21ultra has had battery drain issues for the past couple months.

Right now I get around 3.5 hours of Screen on Time before it hits around 20%.

A few weeks ago I was having issues with Google Services running nonstop in the background, eating my battery.

I ended up doing a factory reset and then disabled Google services.

And now Google Play is running rampant in the background just like Google Services was.

I really REALLY don't want to do another factory reset as the first one caused data loss like important texts, pictures and documents that never backed up properly.

I have cleared cache of Google Play but that did nothing.

If there is a way to post a screenshot of my battery, I will.

Try 2 things
Location looks like it's on in your status bar turn that off , AOD use tap to see instead of always on., Then monitor for one full battery cycle.

I even disabled 120hz refresh rate and took my screen resolution all the way down. And today I'll use this dumpsterfire phone like I normally do, and see if there is any difference.

Hey I appreciate you posting and replying.

I don't want to celebrate too soon, but my SOT is sitting at nearly 5 hours and my battery is 47%. This is a massive improvement. Now I'll just slowly enable features to rule out what the cause is. I miss my 120hz refresh rate and higher screen resolution so I'll start there. Thanks for the help!

Keep the screen at FHD and I think you'll be ok with 120hz because it's adaptive depending on content

Welp, the battery drain is back. Google Play is running rampant in the background again. Location is turned off. Right now I've only used this phone for an hour and it's at 68%. I'm so sick of trouble shooting this phone.
I understand it's a pain , go to settings>apps>Google play services >storage clear data then force stop but also make sure background activity off , if that doesn't help by next battery charge uninstall the update to play services but it might automatically update again Screenshot_20220712-153426_Settings.jpg

Ok. I did as you suggested. I'll watch it over the next day and see how it does. I just don't understand why Google Play service is running like 15 hours in the background.

So I've been monitoring the battery status since we last posted here. Google and Google Play service are now competing with each other over who is s going to consume the most battery.

Yesterday Google used 28% of my battery and was running in the background for 17.5 HOURS.

And Google Play service was 1.4% and was running in the background for 17 hours.

I'm about ready to lose my mind with this difficult phone and I don't know what to do.

Yesterday I went into settings and have disabled EVERYTHING that was causing the last battery drain. I'm at a loss here.

What's crazy is that despite putting Google into sleep and limiting battery consumption, it is still running over 17 hours in the background.

Have you tried going into Settings>App>App Info (tap on the app in the list) and select Disable or Force Stop at the bottom of the screen?

It takes a lot of juice for Google to keep track of you and your activities... and unfortunately you can't completely turn it all off. But that still seems a little excessive  ;)

Yep. I tried that. Right now it seems that the battery drain is not too bad, for today though. Tomorrow? It'll probably be back. The inconsistencies with this phone are driving me nuts.
