Bell Samsung S6 and VM-605: bluetooth connection issue

I have a visor-mounted bluetooth handsfree device, the Blackberry VM-605. Great little device. Lasts forever on a charge, does just what I ask of it. Simple. Expect that my Samsung S6 (5.1.1) doesn't connect properly for media. If I want to listen to music, once I'm connected, I have to open the bluetooth settings for that device and toggle "media audio" off and then on. This tweak works only until I'm disconnected and then it has to be done again.

Any suggestions on how to make this a permanent fix?
