Can someone tell me whats going on with my fingerprint scanner?

I enabled the fingerprint scanner on my AT&T Note 4 and when I try to turn it off it tells "Fingerprints is currently set as the screen lock type for at leastone of the following: Encrypt device, Exchange ActiveSync.
I consider myself pretty smart when it comes to smartphones, but this one has me stumped.

Do you have an Exchange account activated in your phone? If so, it might be 'taking over' your security settings (which you agree on when you sign on to your Exchange account).

If this is the case, go to Settings, General, Security, Device Administrators and see if the Exchange account is there.

No, the only email I have setup is gmail and my AT&T mail.
