Double Vibration on text

I am getting something annoying that happens most of the time when I receive a text. I don't know of a way to make it perform normally.

When I get a text, SOMETIMES, it will vibrate once (for about 200 ms), then about a 3 second pause, and another identical vibration. If I get two texts before the second vibration comes, it's all sorts of confusing. I'll pick my phone up thinking I've received 20 texts, when it's only 10.

I cannot find a way to change the vibration setting for texts/MMS. Does anyone have this issue, or have any info for me? One vibration is sufficient for me. And before you suggest LightFlow, I've used it, and it's completely useless on the V10 (in my experience).

I haven't noticed this at all. I use Google Messenger for text.

I use Google messager. The stock app is laggy to me.
