I am currently running the Moonshine method for Windows. Everything has been going fine until it booted into bootloader for the 2nd time. Now I have been "Waiting for fastboot <8/60>" for ten minutes now. I don't want to just reboot or unplug my phone and risk bricking it. Help please! :(

Post in the xda forums if you can.

How is Hatka? I wanted to try that.

Other than eternally misspelling the name, lol, its great. Its smooth, and there is only one glitch so far- I can't send MMS. I don't know about receiving. But its not a big deal for me. I'm sure I will figure out how to fix it. I may reflash it to see what happens.

I restarted without reflashing and I can now send MMS as long as WiFi is disabled and data is enabled.

I tried Tranquil once I ended up getting s-off with my Linux machine. I am flashing Viper now because I cannot stand the horrific decrease in picture taking quality with the Sense 5 camera app compared to the way it was with the stock rom.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I have looked over XDA and couldn't find an answer.
EDIT: I just tried it again and some way some how it has fixed it on its own. So I don't have an answer for my own question.

It definitely works, you must follow it to the letter. Mine worked the first time....but I reread the steps a bunch before. Don't give up, it's so worth it.

I'm having the same problem. And I've tried it probably 9-10 times now with no success.

Try giving it a shot on the Ubuntu version, using a 32 bit live CD. I was running into this issue on Ubuntu 64-bit with the 32 bit binaries installed, worked the first time on ubuntu 32 bit.

I believe all the Sense 5 ROMs for the DNA do that. On the Sprint One, they've been able to make MMS work over WiFi (it initially had the same issue we did). I hope when 4.2.2/4.3 drops for us we can get this issue resolved on our ROMs.

Got my phone yesterday. Did the Moonshine method on a Chromebook (Acer C7) with ChrUbuntu installed on it in 64bit mode and it worked perfectly.

It was probably the easiest s-off and root I've ever had.

I finally got the nerve to do this and it's awesome. I'm currently using Carbon JB 4.2.2 without HTC Sense and it works great. Next I would like to try one of the Sense 5 ROMS. Does anyone know where to find a Sense 5 ROM that is stable? I also want to know if I need to download GAPPS? If so, from where and which version? Thanks all!

On a Sense 5 ROM, you do not need GAPPS. The only stable Sense 5 ROMs currently are 4.1.2
