Long story short phone was dying to quick and turning off. So I factory reset it. Now I got a new phone in the mail....and I wanted to safely factory reset my old phone before I send it back. So I did a encryption....but I heard it takes an hour to encrypt? Mine only took about 5-10 minutes. It barely had anything on there because I had factory reset it a few days prior so it had no pictures and videos and maybe just 4 or 5 apps? Is it ok to send back or should I encrypt again?

Encryption depends on how much you have stored. If your drive was empty, it's probably just encrypting what little files you had left there (which, after a factory reset, are none). You should be good to go.
