That's correct, pop in your Verizon SIM card and go! Verizon's SIM cards do the provisioning for you. Of course the phone has to be Verizon compatible, but otherwise you should be good to go.

So got a question about that...considering Verizon doesn't officially support the phone yet, if i go into a VZ store for a sim will they essentially tell me i'm out of luck? They usually activate the phone right there.

I've got a One M7 right now so i can't just swap the sim.

Although I do agree with you...... Still kind of opinion... a lot of people don't have a clue what OEM or carrier bloat is and wouldn't know the difference between Android 4.4 and 4.4.4 or 5.0.... My wife being one of them... she usually complains up and down for weeks after a software update because it doesn't work exactly the way it use to before it updated (For better or worse)

I've also seen plenty of people defend the heck out of Touchwiz on the Note devices and bash the Nexus 6 as just an over sized phone without the added software touches Samsung has put in the note to take advantage of the screen... before I learned about rooting I'd just delete carrier or OEM bloat from my home screens and ignore it..... I remember the stupid NASCAR app when with Sprint... UGH!!! I'm actually a NASCAR fan and that app was useless........

It's bloat. People who defend Touch Wiz are wrong. I am right. Fact.

I must be missing something here, as you certainly are aware that the Nexus 6 is not just a GSM device, being widely compatible with Verizon's network bands.

CDMA carriers must manually add your IMEI to their systems. Or it won't work on their network.

That's what I'm trying to find out. Hopefully "insider" Joe or someone with more knowledge can let us know. Or maybe we just won't until people who are on VZW (or switching like me), get the Nexus 6 in hand and take it to a store and report back what happens.
Yea, that video made it look like you can just walk in, get a nano-SIM, pop it in, and POOF, I'm using a Nexus 6 on VZW with full voice/data/LTE.

I'm on TMobile now and debating whether to just stay with them or move over to VZW. While the $$$ savings has been great for my wife and I, the signal coverage on trips and even around town sometimes is plain awful. I should've never left to begin with :( Oh wells...

Yeah I tried to switch to T-Mobile back with the Nexus One.... at the time I lived in TN and I just couldn't live with the coverage.... It was horrendous... 5 years later I now live in Texas and took a gamble with T-Mobile with the Nexus 5 and the coverage here is a million times better (Nashville might be a lot better now... I don't know... have lived here 3 years now)

Our company phones are on Verizon and their overall coverage is second to none.... but man the cost..........

Yea, saving $50/month for last 1.5yrs has been great. And thinking that 80% of the year we're only around town, that's why it hasn't been all that bad. However, we take 2-4 driving trips a year up/down the east/central areas and I75-I85 are just filled with deadzones. I need navigation a couple times and get 0 signal. UGGG... Sucks to have to go back and pay the extra $40-50 again, but the coverage is well worth it IMO. I hate VZW as a company and all the crap they do with phones/locking/IMEI blacklist/etc. Oh wells!

Yeah when I drive up to the Casino's in Oklahoma from Dallas there are plenty of WEAK zones I keep phone service but drop down to edge like coverage for data in between cities 99% of my life is spent right here in Dallas.... My family is back in NC mostly and that is a 19 hour drive so I fly the few times I do go visit... Inside either Casino I get no service at all with T-Mobile.. have to go out to the parking lot and then it lights up with LTE coverage.... When I had my company phone through Verizon it had a pretty good signal inside...

Before I took this position I traveled a lot so T-Mobile wasn't an option.. now that I am more stationary it works best... They are the best value in wireless.. or well depending on where you work live and play.... Like they say... You usually get what you pay for.... I could go back up to paying $80 a month but man it's nice only paying $30.....

I know in general that's usually the case, but both Droid-life and Android Headlines are making it seem like that isn't an issue. Not doubting you, just a lot of different info coming from multiple sources.

I do wonder about activating the phone on Verizon. I've done it so infrequently, but I can't quite remember what the process is. I think you have to log in on the website, and enter in some device information, correct? Do you do that before or after the SIM has been inserted and the phone is turned on?

Anyway, in the Droid Life video, they kinda made it sound like they just popped the SIM in and everything was good to go. There was no real mention of extra steps beyond that to get service.
When I went from Gnex to GS4 all i did was take the sim out of the Gnex and put it into the GS4. A few minutes later, I checked my Verizon account online and it was already showing the GS4. As easy as that!

Do they require you to declare your wireless carrier? If not, it would seem likely that the carriers would all accept and activate a moto-sourced handset (unless Verizon just refuses all until they finish their certification and have it in stores)

When I checked out on Moto's site, it did not ask me which carrier.
