Instagram Reels will not play from/within the GroupMe app. I have had this issue for a few months now. Whenever someone post/shares an IG Reels within GroupMe and I click the post, the black IG Reels screen opens, but the content does not play. I've already cleared cache, force stopped, and deleted data on both apps. I've also uninstalled/updated both apps, and signed in/out of both apps. No avail. I can only copy/ paste the IG Reels links into a web browser to view them. Reels otherwise load fine within IG. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G. Started around the time GroupMe had flickering images (maybe 2 months ago). I cleared cache and deleted content in an attempt to fix that problem, and appeared to create a new one.
