How can I remove deleted photos from Messenger App on Android?

So I accidentally took 150 photos of the inside of my pocket. I've deleted them from my phone, cleared the cache of my Photos app and Messenger, as well as having deleted and re-installed Messenger.

However when I go to send a photo on Messenger, all 150 of the photos are still there. It's a pain to have to scroll through them to find older photos. How can I get these off the app? At this point I'm lost for ideas.

Get a file manager app (ES File Explorer is a good one)...it will let you search for all images on your phone and then delete them. Sometimes duplicates get saved in places you can't easily get to without a file manager.

And go to Google Photos. If the pictures are there, delete them. (If they synced, it doesn't matter if you deleted them from the phone, so you'll have to delete the synced ones too - at Google Photos.)
