Android Central Question

When using the device as a phone, I usually activate the speaker, turn off the screen and place it in my pocket so that I can continue working with my hands. When the call ends, I have to immediately stop what I'm doing, take the device out of my pocket and turn the screen off, otherwise any unknown number features and processes can be activated while the device is bouncing around in my pocket. This is most inconvenient. Why can't the screen just remain blank when the call ends?
