how can i type accented letters on the samsung keyboard cover for the galaxy tab s3

i have to use this tablet for school and bought the samsung keyboard cover to make typing alot easier for me. now i have to learn my french, which i do on a website called quizlet. now i ve come across the problem that i cant type accented letters on the external keyboard.
on any normal keyboard you would hit the key and type the letter you want accented, which it will do automatically. now if ever i want to type an accented letter i have to disconnect the keyboard, activate the screen keyboard and type the letter.
i was wondering if there was a way i could easily type an accented letter on the keyboard cover
