Android Central Question

I have an Oppo phone.. i'm a bit confused about rooting..

I looked to see if androidcentral had a guide and I found

https://www.androidcentral.com/root

But it's not telling me how to root!

I thought in the past i'd used a guide from androidcentral.

1. If you're unsure about how to root, do you really need to root? (People who need to root normally have a reason they need root access.)

2. For most phones, Magisk is the best way to root. Read the thread there. You basically install the Manager (it's an app), patch a boot image (which you extract from a stock ROM for the particular phone), then go to the bootloader and use fastboot to boot the modified boot image. Check the phone out (there are root checker apps) and, if it's rooted, go back to the bootloader and use fastboot to flash the modified boot image.

The next step would be to flash a custom recovery like TWRP. The you flash Magisk.

Search it on XDA. There should be a thread for your device to gain root access.
