How to add an .ics event to Samsung Calendar?

I have an .ics file. How do I add it to Samsung Calendar? The default calendar app on the Note 4.

If I can't, I guess I'll import it in Google Calendar, and that seems to sync with Samsung Calendar. I think.

You should be able to just open the file on your phone and it'll automatically detect it is a calendar entry.

You're right. I thought I had tried that, but I guess not.

Once I opened it, I could then import it into the calendar.

How do I sync the calendars across my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Tab S4 tablet? I tried the sync now on each calendar, but the tablet isn't showing the entry I added.

Which calendar account was the event added to? If it's the local device account (possibly called "My Tablet"), then that wouldn't get synced. It's best to add events to your Google account calendars, which would then sync immediately to your Google Calendar in the cloud. Samsung account calendars would also be ok, but this would only sync to other Samsung devices -- you wouldn't be able to see them elsewhere, like on your computer browser.
