How to remove directional lock

[Android Central Question]

Hey, my grandmother just came back from a trip and she wanted me to help her with her phone. When trying to open it, the phone says “draw series of directions to unlock screen”. shes never had a lock on her phone. Now i dont know how to remove this because she doesn’t remember putting this on her phone. help please

If it’s just the direction lock set-up screen, and there is in fact no lock on it, just Power Off & Restart the phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Screen lock patterns/PINs/passwords shouldn't suddenly appear -- someone created them. Has this always been her phone, or did she get it used?

I suppose it's possible that there could've been a major software glitch causing this, but if that's the case, there's still nothing you can do besides forcing a factory reset from the Recovery Menu as described in the link shared above.

If its a Samsung go to setting>display>scroll to bottom I remember this on older Samsung

It can also be from a game launcher to prevent accidental touch
