If phone updated to new version.is it reduces ram

[AC Question]

My phone honor 4c asking update for android 5.1
It asks 1.25gb.
If im updated to 5.1 is it reduces my 2gb RAM
Or
The updated version will be stored in which place.

It will overwrite that part of the memory storage which at present is occupied by the current version of the OS.
It will not affect the RAM.
